PÅ JAM
Elin from NANNA founded and operated 'På Jam' together with Linnea Henriksson. På Jam was one of Sweden's most successful and talked-about jazz clubs from 2008 to 2012. The club's main goal was to transform the jam scene in Malmö and demonstrate that it is possible to create a high-quality music scene with equality as a guiding principle.
Since the first På Jam in December 2008, eight seasons was organized. A total of 71 bands were booked, featuring 296 musicians, of which 143 were female musicians (i.e., 48%). The club expanded the boundaries of what a jam session could be and what could be included under the concept "jazz." På Jam participated in lectures and acted as mentors for new club organizers. It also had sister clubs in both Stockholm and Gothenburg, guest-performed in Umeå, Halmstad, Möllevångsfestivalen, and Malmöfestivalen. På Jam spawned a sister club in Malmö (Klubb Krinolin) and a twin club in Piteå.
Over 7,000 visitors and artists such as Elin Larsson Group, Susanne Sundfør, Lina Nyberg, Anna von Hausswolff, Edda Magnason, Cecilia Persson Kvintett, Naoko Sakata Trio, The Tiny, Josef Kallerdahl & Erika Angell, Hanna Tolf, Isabel Sörling, Sousou & Maher Cissoko, Midaircondo, and many more participated.
“Undoubtedly one of the most artistically exciting and socially progressive jams that Sweden has seen.”
